Dear users,
We hope this message finds you well.
It is our pleasure to announce that registrations are open for the upcoming Beginner FLUKA course, taking place from 6 November to 10 November at the NEA headquarters in Paris, France.
You can find further practical information on the NEA webpage of the course, including the registration procedure.
The programme is similar to past editions, with few modifications, and is accessible at the indico page of the event.
The following topics will be treated in the course:
- Monte Carlo basics
- Use of FLAIR
- Geometry
- Scoring
- Interactions and biasing
- Activation calculations
Participants are asked to be registered as FLUKA users at https://fluka.cern/ and to have installed the latest released version of both FLUKA and Flair on their machines. No installation support will be provided at the course. Meanwhile, technical questions can be addressed to the FLUKA Forum.
The course fee amounts to 600 EUR for academic users (+1000 CHF for commercial users*). This fee covers coffee breaks and lunch every day of the course plus the social dinner. It does not cover accommodation.
This course can only accommodate 20 participants! Please do not delay if you wish to take part.
The registration process is handled through the NEA website. Please follow the registration procedure detailed there. Once your registration is confirmed, you will be asked to issue the payment, which you have three weeks to make. After that time, your spot will be freed in favour of someone in the waiting list.
Please note that the course will take place in person in Paris, and no arrangements will be made for remote connection. It is therefore your responsibility to ensure all travel arrangements are made in time. We can provide invitation letters if required/useful towards obtaining your visa.
For further clarification, do not hesitate to contact us at fluka.course@cern.ch
Thank you for your sustained interest in FLUKA,
Kind regards
The FLUKA.CERN Team
*: Commercial users should get in contact with fluka.course@cern.ch to initiate the separate payment of the commercial fee.
